Southampton is one of the most historical cities in the U.K. with it’s deep naval history and vibrant water side atmosphere. Southampton has many attractions to offer people both living and visiting the city including some of the finest shopping at the West Quay Shopping Mall, drinking and eating out at the Ocean Village Complex which acts as host and starting point for many of the round the world yacht races and last but not least the unrivalled entertainment and leisure facilities. All of these attractions are combined with some of the most breathtaking coastline and countryside in the south of England.

Accessibility
Southampton is located just off the M27 and M3 which provides the city with excellent road links which make travelling to London around a 1 ½ hour journey by car, the road network provides good access to the South West of England. Regular trains also run from various points throughout Southampton to London Waterloo. There is a full bus service operating within the City. Southampton also has a large port, which operates a foot and car ferry to the Isle of Wight and acts as a departure point for some of the worlds most prestiges cruise liners. Fareham and Portsmouth are approximately 10 and 25 miles away respectively.

Entertainment
Southampton has numerous restaurants especially within the city centre and Ocean Village area’s. There is also a generous quantity of bars and nightclubs catering for every age group. Southampton Guildhall also holds many concerts, and stand-up comedy shows there is also a specialist comedy bar and club. The Leisure World complex contains not only bars, restaurants and night club but is also home to a multiplex cinema meaning you are never short of something to do. The city is also host to a number of festivals and concerts including the famous Party in the Park, dazzling displays of orchestral and jazz music and even a beer festival and if all that is not quite enough Southampton also has a Casino.

Shopping
West Quay is a newly built designer mall with numerous designer outlets and high street names, the mall also contains a large food hall offering a varied range of cusines. The main High Street remains home to a host of the main retail high street names, featuring Alders, Virgin Mega store, Topshop, Warehouse, Burtons and Marks & Spencer’s to name but a few. There are also a number of other smaller malls throughout the city centre.

Sport and Leisure
There is a large choice of sporting activities in Southampton and the surrounding area with a variety of fitness clubs, swimming pools and of course the Southampton Football Club stadium. In short, you will never be left with nothing to do!

Education.
The area provides a wide spectrum of education at all levels including over 43 junior schools, 31 secondary schools, a couple of 6th form colleges and a number of adult education colleges. The city also benefits from having a university.

Employment.
There are many small businesses offering employment to people with a broad band of skills. The area is also home to some major employers such as Southampton City Council, Ford Motor Company, Ordnance Survey, HM Custom and Excise, Vosper Thornycroft, HM Naval Base and a host of others including major retail, financial and retail companies.
